About Us

A-1 Excavating has been operating in Prince Edward County for over 20 years. The original owners, Wayne and Bev Hynde, built a strong business that prided itself on honest dealings, efficient, quality work, and a strong customer base. Upon their retirement, the business was purchased by current owners Nic and Alexia Conley. This couple, partners in life and business, work hard to continue the tradition of excellence set out by the previous owners.

Nic was raised on a Dairy Farm in Prince Edward County. He has backgrounds in both farming and construction. Becoming co-owner of A-1 was a perfect fit for his natural talent of operating heavy equipment, construction experience, and his mechanical inclination. He has an excellent vision, and a work ethic that is exceptional and apparent on every job.

Alexia, originally from Toronto, spent most of her teenage and adult years living in Prince Edward County. She has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Windsor and backgrounds in the hospitality and construction industries. Her sharp organizational skills, high energy and in depth knowledge of the equipment and materials are essential for running the office and crew.

A-1 Excavation’s skilled team and well-maintained equipment are able to complete any task, big or small. As our client base grows, we concentrate on following through and delivering first-rate service in a timely manner. Pacing our growth, and always keeping the customer’s objective and budget in mind, maintains our company’s strength and focus.
